| Obverse description | The obverse features a bold, high-relief depiction of the 'Les Braves' memorial sculpture by Anilore Banon, its abstract wing-like stainless steel forms rising dramatically against a deeply contrasted black background, evoking the spirit and sacrifice of the Omaha Beach landings. The lower half of the field transitions to a frosted, wave-textured surface representing the sea. At the center, a raised circular inset bears the bare-headed right-facing effigy of King Charles III, with the legend '25 DOLLARS · CHARLES III' above and 'COOK ISLANDS' below within the inset border. The date '6 JUNE 1944' appears in the left field and '5OZ .9999 AG' in the right field. The inscription 'MONUMENT LES BRAVES' arcs across the upper periphery in bold relief lettering. |
