Perth Mint's bullion falcon series has run under shifting royal portraits since Elizabeth II, but the 2024 issue marks the first appearance of Charles III's effigy — sculpted by King's portrait artist Jody Clark — on this particular program. The 1/4 oz .9999 fine specification places it within Australia's legal tender bullion framework under the Currency Act 1965, giving Perth Mint exclusive authority to produce gold legal tender coin on behalf of the Australian government.
The falcon denomination has historically drawn collector crossover from raptor-themed series, keeping secondary market premiums above spot more stubbornly than comparable fractional issues.
