Additional information

The Perth Mint's "Extragalactic" issues pull from actual astrophysical survey data — the structures depicted are drawn from deep-field observations compiled by programs like the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, which mapped over three million astronomical objects across roughly a third of the celestial sphere. The 155-gram planchet gives the colorization and patination layers enough surface area to render spatial depth that smaller formats simply can't carry.

Charles III's first portrait on Perth Mint issues follows the Jody Clark effigy, adopted across Commonwealth minting authorities after its introduction on UK coinage in 2015.
