The Perth Mint's dragon series has run long enough to develop a genuine collector following across Asian markets, where the animal carries strong cultural currency — particularly in China, which has driven sustained premium demand for Australian dragon-themed bullion since at least the 2000s. This is the first issue in the series to carry Charles III's effigy following the Australian Mint's adoption of the King's portrait after Elizabeth II's death in September 2022.
The 1/4 oz specification at .9999 fineness places it among the purest fractional gold coins in routine production anywhere.
