| 背面描述 | A laughing kookaburra (Dacelo novaeguineae) is depicted in dynamic full flight, wings broadly extended with finely detailed feather work, gripping a writhing snake in its talons above a rocky gorge rendered in low relief at the base of the field. The word 'KOOKABURRA' arcs prominently along the upper right in large serif lettering against a frosted black-mirrored background panel. To the left of the design, the inscription '2024 1/4oz 9999 GOLD' appears vertically in the field, with the Perth Mint's commemorative mark 'P125' positioned to the lower right and the engraver's initials 'SR' visible near the lower left rim. |

The Australian Kookaburra gold series launched in 1990 as a companion to the silver Kookaburra program, with the design changing annually — a feature borrowed from Chinese Panda coinage and intended explicitly to drive collector demand by preventing date-set completion without annual purchases. The 2024 issue is among the first Perth Mint releases to carry the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Charles III, following the Queen's death in September 2022 and the subsequent transition period during which Commonwealth mints coordinated the rollout of new obverse dies.
