Obverse description The quartered coat of arms of Andorra occupies the central field, surmounted by an episcopal mitre-style crown with trefoil finials. The shield displays the traditional four quarters: the mitre and crozier of the Bishop of Urgell, the pales of Catalonia, the pales of Foix, and the two red bulls of Bearn. The circular legend reads in Catalan around the full perimeter, with the denomination ECU and the date 1996 inscribed in the lower field flanking the shield.
