Obverse description Central device depicting the Ashtamangala motif of the two Golden Fish (Sernya), rendered in high relief with finely detailed scales, facing one another with snouts nearly touching at center, their bodies curving symmetrically within a beaded inner circle. Flowing water and decorative scroll elements surround the fish in the field. The circular legend 'ROYAL GOVERNMENT OF BHUTAN' arcs around the upper periphery, with the date '1979' appearing in the lower exergue, flanked by two small dots.

Reverse description Central device featuring the Dorje (Vajra), a double thunderbolt or diamond sceptre emblematic of indestructible power and the harmony between secular and religious authority in Bhutanese tradition, rendered in bold relief at the center of the field. The denomination legend 'TWENTY FIVE CHHERTUM' is inscribed in Latin script around the periphery of the reverse.
