| 备注 |
Military Payment Certificates were issued to U.S. servicemembers stationed overseas as a buffer against black market currency exchange — foreign nationals who obtained dollars could exploit official exchange rates, so MPC series were periodically recalled and replaced with no advance notice, a process called "Conversion Day." Anyone caught holding the old series after midnight was simply out of luck. Series 641, the 1968 issue, circulated primarily in Vietnam and was replaced by Series 651 in August 1969.
The abrupt, unannounced conversion cycle means surviving examples from active-duty circulation are relatively common; soldiers had little incentive to hoard denominations this small.
