This Certificate sheweth, that Twenty-five Cents has been deposited, bearing Four per cent, interest after thirty days notice, payable to bearer on return of this Script, in Treasury Notes. Twenty-five Cts. Pres't. No.
Reverse description The reverse consists of the face of the pre-existing banknote scrap on which this scrip was overprinted, presented inverted relative to the obverse. Visible elements include engraved guilloche work, a large circular vignette containing an allegorical or pastoral scene with animals, bold letterpress legends including 'THE' and partial text reading 'INCORPORATED' and 'STOCKHOLDERS', and a printer's imprint reading 'Danforth, Wright & Co. New York & Philada.' along the upper border. The overall composition reflects the original note's ornate antebellum bank note design.
