Behind the bear, vertical lines of varying height radiate upward and outward across the field, evoking the curtains of the aurora borealis, flanked by small stars scattered throughout the sky. The legend CANADA arcs across the upper field, interrupted by a central star, while the denomination 25 cents and the date 2018 appear in the lower field below the ice floe. The engraver's initials EH are incused to the lower right of the reverse design. |
