| 表面の説明 | Right-facing uncrowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modeled by sculptor Susan Taylor, wearing a pearl necklace and earrings with hair styled in a refined coiffure. The circumferential legend reads ELIZABETH II to the left and D·G·REGINA to the right, separated by the engraver's initials SB at the base of the truncation. Below the portrait, flanking the base, appear the commemorative dates 1952 and 2022, marking the seventy years of Her Majesty's reign. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border. |

The caribou quarter design has been in continuous circulation since 1937, making it one of the longest-running reverse designs in Canadian coinage history. Emanuel Hahn's original model was adopted that year as part of a broader nationalization of Canadian coin imagery under the new Dominion coinage program. The nickel-plated steel composition used here dates to a cost-driven reformulation in 2000, when rising nickel prices made the previous pure nickel blanks economically unworkable.
