The denomination 'TWENTY FIVE 25 CENTS' appears across the upper portion, flanked by guilloche lathe-work panels at left and right. The lower margin carries the imprint of the Bureau of Engraving and Printing alongside the facsimile titles of the Register and Treasurer of the United States. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse is printed in green intaglio and centres on a large ornate medallion of dense lathe-work guilloche enclosing the numeral '25' above the word 'CENTS' in bold serif lettering. The denomination 'TWENTY FIVE CENTS' runs along the top border, with '25' counters set into each corner within oval frames. Redemption and legal-tender text is arranged in curved lines to the right of the central medallion, while 'Act of March 3d 1863' and 'Patented July 24 1866' appear vertically along the left margin, and the printer's imprint 'Columbian Bank Note Co. Washington, D.C.' is lettered along the bottom border. |
