备注

Camp 40 at Farnham, Quebec was one of several internment facilities established after 1940 to hold civilian enemy aliens — primarily German and Italian nationals — as well as prisoners of war transferred from Britain. Internal scrip was issued across these camps to allow canteen purchases while preventing internees from accumulating Canadian currency that could facilitate escape. The Farnham notes were printed and issued within the camp itself, which accounts for the rough, functional character common to the series.

The 25-cent denomination is the most frequently encountered from Camp 40, suggesting it bore the heaviest canteen use. Notes that survived did so because they were kept as souvenirs by internees after repatriation — wartime camp scrip was not redeemable and had no value outside the wire.
