Obverse description The obverse presents the fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, depicting the sovereign in right-facing profile as a mature portrait at 77 years of age, bareheaded and adorned with a necklace and earrings. The legend encircles the upper field in Latin, while the designer's initials appear truncated below the portrait. The effigy is rendered in fine relief against a flat field, consistent with the Royal Canadian Mint's standard non-circulating coinage presentation of this era.
