Issued to mark the 60th wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip in 2007, this piece belongs to a broader Royal Canadian Mint practice of commemorating royal milestones on the standard quarter format — a habit that accelerated sharply through the 2000s as the mint expanded its circulation commemorative program.
