| Beschrijving keerzijde | A vivid colourized depiction of a Scarlet Tanager (Piranga olivacea) in full flight, its brilliant red plumage contrasting sharply with its dark blue-black wings and tail. The bird is shown in dynamic lateral pose, wings spread wide, set against a naturalistically rendered spray of green Canadian maple leaves. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 25 CENTS and date 2014 curve along the lower rim. The engraver's initials PL appear in the lower right field, and the coin exhibits the characteristic satin finish of a Specimen strike. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Part of the RCM's broader coloured wildlife quarter program, which by 2014 had expanded well beyond its original 2011 launch into an extended series targeting the collector market rather than circulation. These pieces were sold directly through the Mint's retail channels and saw essentially no circulation use, which explains their consistent survival in original condition.
