Obverse lettering ELIZABETH II CANADA D·G·REGINA 1867-1992
(Translation: Elizabeth II Queen by the grace of God)
Reverse description The reverse depicts a detailed view of Lower Fort Garry, a historic Hudson's Bay Company stone fortification in Manitoba, rendered in finely engraved frosted relief against mirror-polished fields. A Red River cart is prominently positioned in the left foreground, evoking the fur-trade heritage of the province, while a leafy tree appears to the far left. The provincial name MANITOBA arches across the upper legend, and the denomination 25 CENTS is inscribed along the lower margin. The engraver's initials MEH appear discreetly in the lower right of the central design, and the entire composition is bordered by a ring of beads.
