| Obverse description | Right-facing draped effigy of Queen Elizabeth II as a young sovereign, wearing an ornate open crown enhanced with selective gold plating, based on the portrait attributed to Arnold Machin as adapted for the 1967 Centennial coinage. The legend ELIZABETH II is inscribed along the left arc of the field, while D·G·REGINA appears along the right arc. A fine beaded border encircles the design, itself framed by a gold-plated outer rim. The truncation of the bust, also selectively gilt, adds a striking contrast against the frosted silver field. |
