| Reverse description | Central shield bearing the arms of the City of Hamilton, supported on either side by a mermaid figure, with an elaborate crest above featuring a helmeted figure and foliate mantling. A ribbon scroll below the shield bears the motto SPARSA COLLIGIT. The denomination TWENTY-FIVE CENTS arcs along the upper rim, and the date 1984 appears in the lower field. The design is rendered in sharp cameo relief against a mirror-polished proof field. |

| Additional information |
Bermuda's silver proof coinage of the early 1980s was produced specifically for the collector market, with circulation strikes in cupro-nickel issued separately. The 1984 proof set was struck at the Franklin Mint under contract — an arrangement Bermuda relied on for much of its premium numismatic output during this decade before the relationship wound down in subsequent years.
