| Reverse description | A vivid full-colour depiction of a Blue Jay (Cyanocitta cristata) in dynamic mid-flight, wings fully spread and tail fanned, rendered with exceptional naturalistic detail. Autumnal maple leaves in shades of gold, orange, and red are positioned behind and below the bird, evoking a distinctly Canadian seasonal setting. The colourization is applied over a polished nickel-plated steel field, creating a striking contrast between the coloured central motif and the mirror-like surrounding surface. The legend CANADA arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination 25 CENTS and the date 2010 are inscribed along the lower rim. This piece constitutes the sixth issue in the Royal Canadian Mint's Birds of Canada coloured quarter series. |
