Issued to mark the 160th anniversary of the Victoria Cross, this coin commemorates the decoration instituted by Queen Victoria in 1856 following the Crimean War. Australia has produced more VC recipients per capita than almost any other nation — 100 Australians have been awarded the decoration since federation, including four since 2009 for actions in Afghanistan.
