Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of King Edward VII, depicted as a draped and robed bust wearing the Imperial State Crown, engraved in high relief by George William de Saulles whose initials 'DES' appear below the truncation. The legend arcs around the upper periphery within a beaded border, identifying the sovereign's title. The portrait is characteristic of the standard colonial coinage effigy approved for use throughout British possessions during the Edwardian era.
