| 背面描述 | The denomination 25 CENTS is displayed in large numerals and lettering at the centre of the coin, enclosed within a beaded circle. The central circle is framed by an ornamental design featuring interlaced rope or scroll motifs at the four cardinal points, with a decorative knotwork device at the top. The legend BRITISH HONDURAS arcs around the upper periphery, while the date flanked by two raised dots appears at the base. A toothed border runs along the outer rim. |

British Honduras operated under a persistent currency shortage throughout the early 1900s, with small-denomination silver kept in circulation far longer than intended. The 25-cent piece of this period was struck at the Royal Mint in London — the colony had no mint of its own — and shipped in quantities tightly controlled by Treasury approval in Belize City. The 1906 and 1907 issues together represent a brief window between the earlier Victorian coinage and the supply disruptions that followed Edward VII's death in 1910.
KM#12 is known with relatively low surviving populations in problem-free grades, likely a consequence of the humid tropical climate accelerating surface deterioration in circulation.
