Additional information

Barbados entered a licensing agreement with Disney to produce this issue as part of a broader wave of Caribbean legal tender coins aimed squarely at the collector market rather than circulation. The gold plating is decorative only — applied after striking to a cupro-nickel blank.

Donald Duck's official debut came in 1934's "The Wise Little Hen." That's the extent of what connects this coin to Barbadian monetary history.
