Obverse description The national coat of arms of Belize occupies the central field, featuring a quartered shield displaying crossed tools and a sailing vessel, flanked by two barefoot woodcutters serving as supporters, each holding a tool over his shoulder. Above the shield rises a mahogany tree, and below it a scroll bears the national motto in Latin. The entire device is encircled by a wreath of olive branches, with the country name BELIZE arching across the upper field and the date 1974 positioned at the base. A continuous beaded border frames the design at the rim.
