| Reverse description | The reverse presents a dynamic depiction of a streamertail hummingbird — Jamaica's national bird — in flight, approaching a flowering branch rendered in fine detail across the central field. The large denomination numeral '25' occupies the lower centre, with the word 'CENTS' beneath it. The commemorative legend 'BANK OF JAMAICA 25TH ANNIVERSARY 1960-1985' curves along the upper and left periphery, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Bank of Jamaica. A beaded border frames the composition. |

| Additional information |
The 1985 Jamaican 25-cent piece belongs to a coinage series introduced following Jamaica's shift to a floating exchange rate in 1983, which triggered rapid depreciation of the Jamaican dollar and significantly eroded the purchasing power these coins were meant to represent. Within a decade, inflation had rendered the denomination essentially worthless in daily commerce.
