Obverse description Intaglio-printed note in green and orange, with an oval portrait vignette of King George VI in military uniform positioned at right centre within an intricate guilloche border. The central field carries the legal tender inscription in English, Jawi, and Chinese scripts, with the issue date 1st September 1940 and a facsimile signature of the Chairman of the Commissioners below. A blank watermark oval occupies the left portion of the note, and the denomination numeral '25' appears in orange at the lower right.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in green intaglio within a guilloche frame and carries a composite vignette of eleven territorial heraldic arms, representing the Straits Settlements, Trengganu, Kedah, Kelantan, Johore, Perlis, Brunei, Perak, Pahang, Selangor, and Negri Sembilan, each identified by its territorial name. The denomination '25 CENTS' is displayed centrally beneath the arrangement of arms. The printer's imprint appears at the lower margin.
