| Opmerkingen |
Villamanrique — a small municipality in Seville province — issued its own fractional emergency currency during the Spanish Civil War when the Republic's central government could not maintain an adequate supply of small change. These hyper-local emissions, collectively catalogued under the *billetes de necesidad* phenomenon, were produced by hundreds of Andalusian town councils in 1936–37, typically without formal authorization from Madrid and often printed on whatever card stock was locally available. The thick substrate here is characteristic of councils working with commercial stationers rather than any proper printing house.
Gari Mon #1605-A is among the scarcer Sevillian municipal issues simply because Villamanrique's wartime population was small and surviving quantities reflect that.
