Uleila del Campo is a small municipality in Almería province, and like hundreds of similarly modest Spanish towns, its local council issued emergency fractional currency during the Civil War after metallic coin effectively vanished from circulation in 1936. These municipal "cartones" and paper notes were a purely local fix — accepted at the baker's or the cooperative but worthless a few kilometers away.

Gari Mon catalogues this as #1490-A, suggesting at least one variant exists. Provincial Republican-era municipals from Almería are among the harder series to trace, since many were printed in tiny quantities and few survive outside regional collections.
