| 备注 |
Tabernas is a small municipality in Almería province, best known outside Spain for its desert — Europe's only true desert — and the spaghetti western film sets built there in the 1960s. In 1936, like hundreds of other Spanish municipalities during the Civil War, the Ayuntamiento issued emergency fractional paper scrip to address a catastrophic shortage of small coinage. The Republican government's hoarding problem was severe; copper and silver coins vanished from circulation almost immediately after July 1936.
Municipal issues of this type were strictly local instruments, theoretically redeemable at the town hall but in practice often worthless once front lines shifted. Almería province remained Republican until the war's final weeks in 1939.
