Selva de Mar is a coastal village in the Alt Empordà comarca that barely held 200 inhabitants during the Civil War years. Like hundreds of Catalan municipalities, its council issued emergency small-change notes in 1937 to compensate for the near-total disappearance of metallic coinage — silver and copper had been hoarded, melted, or requisitioned almost immediately after July 1936. The Generalitat encouraged but never fully coordinated this local emission, which is why the typographic quality and paper stock vary so wildly across the series.
Turró 2328 is among the more obscure Girona provincial entries — small-run village notes from Alt Empordà frequently survive in quantities of fewer than a dozen known examples.
