备注

Sasserra is a municipality of barely a few hundred inhabitants in the Bages comarca of Catalonia, which makes this note one of the more extreme examples of the hyperlocal paper money proliferation that occurred across Republican-held Spain during the Civil War. The collapse of small-denomination coinage from 1936 onward forced thousands of municipalities — many of them tiny — to issue their own emergency notes, a phenomenon so widespread that Turró's catalog runs to well over ten thousand entries for Catalonia alone.

Notes from villages this small typically saw only the most confined local circulation, often for a matter of months before redemption or abandonment. Surviving examples tend to show either heavy use or none at all.
