Opmerkingen

Sabadell was one of the more industrially assertive municipalities during the Spanish Civil War's currency chaos of 1936–37, issuing its own fractional notes when Republican-zone small change essentially collapsed. The Ajuntament's emissions were among the more numerous in Catalonia — Sabadell produced several denominations across multiple series, a reflection of a mid-sized textile city that couldn't wait for Madrid or Barcelona to solve the coinage problem.

At 40 × 30 mm, this is among the smallest paper currency produced by any Spanish wartime issuer. The thick card stock was a practical choice — purely paper notes at that size would have disintegrated within weeks of street use.
