25 Céntimos Rocafort de Vallbona

Rocafort de Vallbona is a small municipality in the Urgell comarca of Lleida, and like hundreds of Catalan towns during the Civil War, its ajuntament issued small-denomination paper to address the acute shortage of metallic coin that followed the Republican monetary disruption of 1936–37. These locally issued fractional notes — collectively known as "moneda de necessitat" or emergency currency — were technically illegal under Republican financial regulations but tolerated out of practical necessity.

Printed by Antoni Figueres in Tàrrega, who handled similar emergency issues for several surrounding municipalities, making him a de facto regional supplier of wartime scrip.
