Requena, a wine-producing town in Valencia province, was among hundreds of Aragonese and Levantine communities where CNT-affiliated agricultural collectives issued their own emergency scrip after the July 1936 uprising. The Colectividad Agrícola CNT Requena operated under the anarcho-syndicalist collectivization that briefly displaced conventional commerce across much of Republican-held territory — local scrip like this circulated as the only practical medium of exchange within the collective's economy, often explicitly invalid outside the issuing commune.

Survival rates for this type are poor. Much was destroyed in 1939 or simply discarded once Nationalist forces consolidated control of the region. The dual catalog reference across both Gari and Turró reflects the bibliographic complexity of Spanish Civil War local issues, where no single authority has ever produced a definitive census.
