Perafort is a tiny municipality in the Camp de Tarragona, and like hundreds of Catalan and Valencian towns during the Civil War, it issued its own fractional paper currency after the Republican government's 1936 decree authorizing local emergency money — the result of a near-total disappearance of metallic coinage from circulation. Imprenta Solé in Tarragona handled printing for a number of these small municipal issues across the province, which accounts for the family resemblance many Turró-catalogued Tarragona-area notes share.
The Turró reference (1807) places this squarely within the documented corpus of Catalan guerra civil locals, though Perafort's low population meant emission quantities were small.
