| 表面の説明 | Plain cream card stock printed entirely in black letterpress. The issuer name appears in two lines at the top — 'Consejo Municipal' in large serif type above 'DE NOGUERUELAS' — separated from the central denomination legend 'Vale por 25 céntimos' by a pair of horizontal rules. A serial number field prefixed 'Nº' is printed at the foot of the note. |

| 裏面の説明 | Otherwise blank cream card stock bearing a circular violet municipal control stamp reading 'NOGUERUELAS - (Teruel)' with additional text around the perimeter, over which a large looping hand-drawn paraph signature crosses the field diagonally; a manuscript notation '5.000' appears in the upper margin, likely indicating the authorised print run. |

Nogueruelas is a small municipality in the Gúdar-Javalambre comarca of Teruel province, Aragon. During the Spanish Civil War, hundreds of towns across the Republican zone issued their own fractional emergency currency — vales, cartones, or billetes locales — to compensate for the catastrophic shortage of small coinage after silver and copper were hoarded or melted down. This 25 céntimos is one of those issues, authorized at the municipal council level with no oversight from Madrid or the Catalan finance authorities.
The thick card stock was a practical choice: local printers had no access to proper banknote paper, and heavier material survived handling in a market or tavern better than thin stock would have.
