Nachá is a tiny municipality in the comarca of Segarra, Catalonia. Emergency fractional paper money of this kind — issued by individual town councils during the Spanish Civil War — proliferated from mid-1936 onward as metallic coinage disappeared almost entirely from circulation, hoarded or melted. The Ayuntamiento de Nachá's 25 céntimos issue is catalogued under the Gari Monetary series, which documents Catalan local emissions of that period with more rigor than most regional references manage.

Villages this small often printed single runs of a few hundred notes, sometimes fewer. Survival rates are correspondingly poor.
