| Beschrijving keerzijde | Otherwise plain yellow-buff paper, bearing a single oval rubber stamp impression in blue-grey ink at centre. The stamp carries a scalloped border and contains multiline text reading 'CONSEJO LOCAL DE' across the upper arc, with further text partially legible as 'DEFENSA' and additional lettering in the lower arc, consistent with a local defence council validation stamp of the Spanish Civil War period. |

La Puebla de Castro was a small municipality in the province of Huesca, Aragon, and like hundreds of similar villages across Republican Spain during the Civil War, its collective — likely CNT-affiliated — issued fractional paper currency to address the near-total disappearance of metallic coin from circulation after 1936. These hyper-local emissions were never formally sanctioned by the Republican treasury and carry no serial numbers or security features worth speaking of.
Most perished in daily use or were discarded after the war. Survivorship is almost entirely a function of chance.
