| Obverse description | Left-facing draped bust of a female allegorical figure representing the Spanish Republic, her flowing hair adorned with a small Phrygian cap motif and accompanied by an olive branch extending behind the neck toward the right field. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine engraved detail in the hair and drapery, in a classically inspired style characteristic of the period. The curved legend REPÚBLICA ESPAÑOLA runs along the left periphery from lower left to upper left, conforming to the coin's border. |
