Fuente-Encarroz — today known as Font d'En Carròs — is a small agricultural municipality in the Valencia region, and this 25 céntimos note is a product of Spain's Civil War monetary breakdown. When the Republic's central banking supply chains collapsed in 1936–37, hundreds of Valencian municipalities printed their own emergency fractional currency, often on whatever card stock was locally available. Fuente-Encarroz was among the smallest communities to do so, which makes surviving examples genuinely uncommon.
The Turró and Gari catalogues both document this issue, but population-adjusted survival rates for notes from villages of this size are poor.
