Cervelló is a small municipality in the Baix Llobregat comarca, south of Barcelona. Like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish Republican councils during the Civil War, it issued its own fractional emergency currency after the collapse of small-coin availability following the July 1936 uprising — a problem so acute that local authorities were explicitly authorized by the Generalitat de Catalunya to print their own provisional notes. The C.A.M. printer in Barcelona handled a significant volume of these municipal issues, which accounts for the family resemblance across many Turró-catalogued pieces from this period.
Survival rates for Cervelló's emission are low simply due to the note's obscurity and limited original print run.
