| Opmerkingen |
One of hundreds of small-denomination emergency notes produced by Catalan municipalities during the Spanish Civil War, when the collapse of normal coin supply forced local governments to paper over the gap themselves. Castellví de la Marca is a minor wine-country municipality in the Alt Penedès comarca, and its issues are among the more obscure in the Turró catalogue. Three signatories — the secretary-treasurer, the mayor, and the depositary — authenticated each note individually, a formality that speaks to how seriously these councils took their improvised monetary role, even under wartime conditions.
