Opmerkingen

Castellvell del Camp is a small municipality in the Camp de Tarragona, and like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish Republican local authorities during the Civil War, it issued its own emergency fractional currency in 1937 when the acute shortage of small coinage made everyday commerce effectively impossible. The central Republican government had lost practical control over the coin supply, and municipalities filled the gap themselves — legally permissive under a 1937 decree but wildly inconsistent in execution.

Turró catalogues this as #777. The series is scarce by default: small-town emergency issues had short circulation windows and almost no institutional preservation.
