Campotéjar is a small municipality in Granada province, and like hundreds of similarly sized Spanish towns, its local council issued emergency small-change notes during the Civil War after metallic coin effectively vanished from circulation in the Republican zone. The Consejo Municipal had no banking infrastructure behind it — these were purely administrative instruments, authorized locally and accepted locally, with no guarantee beyond the goodwill of the issuing body.
The Gari Mon cataloguing places this in the 426-B position, suggesting at least one variant exists within the series. Provincial Spanish Civil War emergency issues are notoriously difficult to authenticate and grade consistently, given the improvised production conditions.
