Opmerkingen

Bordils is a small municipality in the Girona comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of similarly minor councils, it issued its own emergency fractional currency during the Civil War after the Republic's coinage supply collapsed in 1936–37. These municipal emissions — collectively catalogued in the thousands across Catalonia alone — were typically printed on whatever card or paper was locally available, which explains the variation in stock weight and quality within single series. Turró's cataloguing work remains the essential reference for this material, given the near-total absence of formal printing records at the issuing level.
