| Obverse description | Pink-toned note printed in dark ink on a plain field. At centre, an oval vignette bears the municipal seal of Bigues — an engraved landscape with a tree on a hillside — encircled by the legend AJUNTAMENT · BIGUES. The date of issue is divided across the upper field, MES DE JUNY to the left and ANY 1937 to the right, each flanked by small guilloche ornaments. Two circular denomination cartouches showing 25 cts appear in the lower left and right corners, with the comarca name (Vallès Oriental) and the bearer payment clause in italic script between them. The printer's imprint Gràfiques Unificades Granollers appears along the bottom margin. |

One of hundreds of tiny municipal emergency issues produced across Catalonia during the Civil War, when the collapse of small-denomination coinage left local governments scrambling to keep everyday commerce functional. The Generalitat had authorized municipalities to print their own fractional scrip in 1936, and Bigues — a small village in the Vallès Oriental comarca — took up that authorization like virtually every other ajuntament in the region.
Gràfiques Unificades in Granollers handled production for numerous surrounding municipalities, which is why notes from this area share a family resemblance in paper stock and typography despite different issuing authorities.
