Bienservida is a small municipality in the Sierra de Alcaraz, Albacete province, and like hundreds of Spanish towns it issued its own fractional emergency currency during the Civil War when Republican-zone coinage all but vanished from circulation. The Consejo Municipal series was a strictly local solution — printed at Collado's press in Albacete city and distributed to cover day-to-day transactions that coins would otherwise have handled.
Collado produced municipal emergency notes for several Albacete-province towns during this period, which means the print quality is workmanlike but consistent across the series. The Gari catalogue reference 332-A suggests at least one variant exists within the Bienservida issue.
