| 正面铭文 | ALFONSO XIII ESPAÑA · 1907 · |
| 背面描述 | The denomination 25 CENTIMOS is rendered in bold raised letters within a central circle, which is itself enclosed by a five-pointed star formed by interlocking geometric lines. The points of the star extend toward the coin's rim, and the intervening spaces between the star's arms are filled with additional angular decorative patterning. The overall design is strictly ornamental and non-figurative, emphasising a geometric aesthetic consistent with early twentieth-century Spanish pattern coinage. |

Alfonso XIII patterns of this period emerged from Spain's ongoing struggle to replace its copper-nickel small coinage with a stable nickel alloy series — a project repeatedly delayed by disputes between the Treasury and the Mint at Madrid over alloy sourcing and striking pressure requirements. This 1907 piece was never adopted for circulation; Spain ultimately continued issuing the 25 céntimos in cupronickel through the established Barcelona contractor arrangements rather than transitioning to a pure nickel blank.
The Auréo reference places this among a small documented group of Madrid Mint trials from that year.
