| 备注 |
Alcover is a small town in the Camp de Tarragona, and like hundreds of Catalan and Spanish municipalities during the Civil War, it issued its own fractional currency after the collapse of small-coin supply in 1936–37. The Republican government's inability to maintain adequate coinage in circulation forced local councils — ajuntaments — to fill the gap themselves, producing emergency notes that were technically only valid within their own municipal boundaries.
Printed by Imprenta Solé in Tarragona, which handled a number of these local emergency issues across the province. The official stamp substitutes for more elaborate security, typical of the resource constraints facing small councils at the time.
